Honoring those who served for Veterans Day
When is Veterans Day 2022?
Veterans Day is observed on November 11 each year.
Why we celebrate Veterans Day
This national holiday originally was to honor military veterans of the United States Armed Forces after World War I. It has since been adapted to honor all military members. To most people, it is a day to celebrate our rights and freedom as a nation and to give thanks to those men and women that have made it possible. And a day to help recognize freedom for all people of the world.
Spelling of Veterans Day
We made sure to spell the holiday correctly, as some commonly printed calendars may have an apostrophe making the day possessive to a Veteran. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs website states that the attributive (no apostrophe) rather than the possessive case is the official spelling "because it is not a day that 'belongs' to veterans, it is a day for honoring all veterans."
Happy Veterans Day
